Prologue . . .
Once Upon a Time in 2018, Devon became friends with a student in Southwest Baptist University's Computer Science Department by the name of Elise. In 2021, when Devon and Elise had naturally drifted apart, Stephanie and Elise met while volunteering at SBU for Freshman Orientation. Within the first week of meeting, Elise said to her "you have to meet my friend, Devon. You guys are the same person." Throughout the months that followed, Stephanie would continue to hear stories about Devon Nelson, and Elise would often make comments such as, "You and my friend Devon are both infuriatingly stubborn."
Chapter 1 . . .
In November of 2021, during one of the most physically and mentally taxing semesters Stephanie had experienced at SBU, Elise asked if she could set Stephanie up with someone. Stephanie said no, that she didn't have time for dating, and that she was absolutely done with men that wanted to be anything more than friends. Elise said, "Okay, I can find you a friend."
At the same time, after months of no communication, Devon received a text from Elise mentioning a girl named Stephanie that she really wanted him to meet. She said that she thought they would be a perfect match. Devon texted her back, and suddenly a group chat was formed amongst the three of them.

Devon and Stephanie spend two hours walking around the At Home store, just talking and getting to know each other. At the end of the night, Stephanie tells Devon that he should come to SBU's Christmas Gala. He says, "We'll see."
November 30, 2021
Stephanie receives a text from Devon saying that he was able to get off for the night for the Christmas Gala.
December 4, 2021
Devon, Stephanie, and Elise go to the Christmas Gala. Devon and Stephanie both kind of wish Elise would leave them alone. She does. They dance in an empty parking lot by the headlights of Devon's Mustang, to Foreigner's I Want to Know What Love Is. Stephanie wonders if she might be able to explain it to Foreigner, soon.
December 4, 2021 (Late Night)
Stephanie creates a Wedding Pinterest Board. Devon tells his best friend Tyler that he doesn't think Stephanie is interested.
December 8, 2021
After hanging out every single day, Devon comes to realize that Stephanie is, in fact, interested, but that Stephanie's heart means that he has to receive the COVID vaccine before they can pursue a relationship. He chooses Moderna.
December 10, 2021
Elise cancels last minute on plans for the three of them to go to Springfield for the evening. Devon and Stephanie decide to go without her. In the middle of the evening, a Tornado Warning rolls into the Ozarks, and Devon suggests they go home before it hits Springfield. Stephanie insists on staying in town. They go to Bass Pro Shops for the public tornado shelter, and when the warning passes, they drive home in the pouring rain. As it would turn out, the Mustang's thirty five year old convertible top seals were no match for the rain, and by the time they arrived back at Elise's apartment, Devon was completely soaked through, but Stephanie almost completely dry. They now consider this to be their first date.

January 16, 2022
After a month of waiting, Devon is fully vaccinated. Devon and Stephanie have their first un-masked date, and their first kiss.
March 30, 2022
On a whim, Stephanie applies to the Disney College Program-- a 3-6 month internship at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
April 4, 2022
Stephanie is accepted into the Disney College Program. The first person she tells is Devon, who encourages her to follow her dream of working at Disney World.
November 25, 2022
Stephanie returns home from the Disney College Program.

Devon and Stephanie move in together. They keep separate bedrooms and bathrooms, so that they can merge all of their things together when they, eventually, get married.

Devon and Stephanie decide they're tired of waiting to get married just to afford a Big White Wedding. They start zeroing in on what they want, and what a wedding truly means to them.
June 8, 2024
Stephanie begins getting suspicious.
June 22, 2024
Devon, two of his best friends, and their respective spouses go to Hedge Hollow Raceway to redeem their Christmas gift of driving supercars. As they're leaving, Devon gets down on one knee. Stephanie says yes before he even asks the question.
Chapter 3 . . .
Devon and Stephanie are incapable of expressing how excited they are to begin this next chapter of their lives-- together, as one, with their loved ones as witnesses. Who knows what they might encounter next?
